Bewitched

I recently saw an analysis of the old TV sitcom, Bewitched.

What does the audience learn from the comical marriage being played out on screen? The woman, with hidden powers, can still find her husband endearing despite his fallibilities. The man, although mortal, can still accept his wife even after discovering that she's a witch .

We all have our hidden strengths. Don't assume that the foibles of the one you love are all that there is to that person.

  • Dear Dr.Mona, What can a parent do when their teenager (18) lies about what they are doing, or where they are going? My daughter took another teen (who didn't have permission to go with her)out. When I saw they both came back to my house together my daughter lied to me and said she just met the girl and gave her a ride home. I am really not sure how to respond, or what an appropriate punnishment would be. I am disappointed with my daughter that she still lies to me to do what she pleases, and am not sure how to handle this. Perhaps this is something you could please address in future blogs or newsletters.

  • P.S. The girl she took out got into big trouble and was punnished as a result.
