When It's OK to Run Hurt

The title of this post comes from a NY Times article today on what to do when one has sustained an athletic injury. Should one get to bed or resume running?

In life as well as athletics, most of us are "hurt" at one time or another. In the course of our interactions with others, for example, someone may say or do something that's hurtful. Should we cut off the relationship? Or should we maintain it, despite the hurt?

Similarly, we may experience a setback at work, and not get the promotion or raise that we expected. How should we respond? Do we nurse our hurt or keep working?

"We want you to keep moving," says a sports medicine specialist.

You are alive. Keep moving. Learn from mistakes and setbacks, but keep moving. Don't let the scratches and pain send you to bed.
