Our Children at Peril

When we send our children to the babysitter, playgroup or school we entrust them to the care of other people. We assume that these caregivers/teachers are trustworthy people.

How can we make such an assumption with our most precious treasures? What research can we do, if any, that will provide sufficient basis for our decision?

Sure we make phone calls, we speak to satisfied parents, we ask questions and hope that we've asked enough questions to get the answers we want.

But ultimately we make the decisions based on faith.

Sometimes, G-d help us, we are wrong.

Out of ignorance and lack of information we put our children at risk. We do not keep them safe.

As a result, the children are abused by the very people who are supposed to care for them. Are these your children or mine? Yes! They are all our children and we are at fault if the abuse continues because the abusers are permitted to remain in their positions.

Do not remain silent if you suspect something. Set the alarm bells ringing.
